Naira Marley To Remain In Prison Till Monday As Management Fails To Perfect Bail on Time



Contrary to reports circulating online that Azeez Fashola better known as Naira Marley is now free, Facts Suqare can report that, the singer will have to remain in prison till Monday, 3rd of June.

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, granted bail to Naira Marley in the sum of N2million with two sureties in like sum.

Delivering a ruling on Thursday, Justice Nicholas Oweibo held that one of the sureties must be a public servant not less than grade level 10 in the Federal or State Civil Service.

He said the other surety must have a landed properly within the court’s jurisdiction and must be verified by the court.

However, the management of the popular singer this evening came out to announce that the singer will remain in prison till Monday.

Though they claim the bail has been perfected, the management of the singer said it'll will have to wait for the court on Monday to confirm that the bail conditions have been met.


Naira Marley's trial is fixed for October 22, 23, and 24, after the court’s annual vacation.

The singer was charged to court at the behest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 11 count charge bordering on cybercrime, possession of counterfeit cards and conspiracy to obtain gain.

After the 11 charges were read to him, he pleaded 'not guilty'.
