A third suicide bomber was sighted and subsequently gunned down after explosions rocked the mosque at the University of Maiduguri on Monday morning.
Our correspondent reported that a young woman of about 12 years was seen with an improvised explosive device (IED) strapped to her body in Bara Karaya village behind the University of Maiduguri. Vigilant villagers promptly alerted the military, who managed to kill her before detonating the bomb.
The military’s bomb disposal personnel subsequently disarmed the IED, preventing further casualties.
