Audu's Son react to replacement of his Father

Mohammed Audu, the eldest son of the late Prince Abubakar Audu has reacted to reports making round that Yahaya Bello, the runner up in the APC primary election, has been selected as the party’s governorship candidate in the supplementary poll slated for this weekend.
He however declined to speak further on the issue because it was the Eighth day prayer for his father.

Late Prince Abubakar Audu

“Any attempt to replace him while the mourning period is on-going is a backyard move.

“Our mission here is to pray for the repose of his soul. It is too soon to be discussing politics. I will like us to focus more on the mourning.

“As you can see, people are still wearing long faces,” he said.

The APC however has disclosed that it has yet picked a replacememt for its late Audu.
Audu, who died on sunay, November 22, was buried on Monday, November23  according to Muslim rites.

The late APC governorship canditate was leading his opponent Captain Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party by 41,353 votes. The INEC declared the poll inconclusive and scheduled a supplementary election in 91 polling units for Saturday, December 5.

In practice, whoever APC nominates has already become the Governor of Kogi state since PDP’s candidate Governor Idris Wada cannot possibly close the gap in the supplementary election, hence the high stakes.

Speaking at a news conference in his hometown, Ofu local government area of the state, Mohammaed said he hasn’t been informed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) of the party’s replacement following the death of his father.
